The <GCS> Global Controls Server interface provides all the normal functions of the currently installed GE interface while going a step further by allowing for flexible and detailed preventive maintenance analysis & troubleshooting not currently available until upgrading to GE’s MkVIe™.
This <GCS> product is the main upgrade option when converting from an <I> interface or when connecting to a MkIV*.
As a premier OEM alternative product, <GCS> allows the customer to have a full engineering workstation that is capable of normal GE <HMI> server functions, providing an operator interface that integrates the latest version of Cimplicity, which is upgradeable at the customer’s discretion based on new revision releases. You can also add Proficy Historian capabilities as an option for added sophistication.
Troubleshooting unit trips or events is made easier while running the <GCS> software utilizing SwiftChart:
Sequence-Of-Events continuously running at 8 scans per second (predefined High Speed (HS) points)
Sequence-Of-Events continuously running at 1 scan per second (All points other than HS)
All TRIP logicals monitored at 8 scans per second (predefined HS points)
Alarms time stamped with the SOE data
Capability of jumping from alarms directly into software logic
The <GCS> can also be used to consolidate multiple on-site OEM devices (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, etc.) into one system application with a common look and feel.
Global Controls has developed special drivers for the product to facilitate a connection with the DCS control system, allowing for it to communicate via Modbus or GSM. Such an enhancement would allow <G> gateway type communication used for DCS communications, as well as with other software packages.
* Based on an existing MAUI CSF interface
